That’s why we partnered with Shaia to offer the Medical Heritage Coat: a balance of craftsmanship, comfort, and practical utility, with a tailored silhouette that looks as composed at hour twelve as it did at hour one.
A Heritage of Craftsmanship
SPO 33 has partnered with Shaia to bring a tailoring mindset to the physician’s coat: fit, function, and quiet authority—designed to wear well, move well, and represent the work it took to earn the title.
To build it, we approached the coat the way we approach a suit: start with real-world use, then design backward from how it must perform.
Studied how physician’s coats actually wear over years of daily use
Applied deep expertise in pattern making, tailoring, and comfort-driven fit
Prototyped repeatedly—testing fabrics and construction until it felt unmistakably “right”
The Fabric
Our coats are crafted from long-staple Egyptian cotton twill. They will not only stand up to years of wear, they look better the more you wear them. They can be laundered or dry-cleaned.
The Details
Cloth-knot buttons provide an authentic heritage finish. Our unique yoke and sleeve lining allow the coat to slide easily and comfortably over clothing, and four strategically-placed pockets enhance the coat’s functionality. Sleeves have surgeons’ cuffs that turn up smoothly and quickly.
The Fit
SPO 33 has partnered with Shaia, who have a long history of tailoring clothes to an impeccable fit. That is equally true for their Medical Heritage Coats. The silhouette is tailored to a contemporary fit. The lapel and collar are crafted to ensure a snug fit around the neck so that the lapel rolls properly.
